Stevie Jones is a troubadour with a long and varied musical career. After starting out as bassist/lyricist in 80's alternative post punk trio Voices Of Sin outfit he witnessed Billy Bragg and Justin Sullivan performing solo which inspired him to change tact and began busking and playing acoustic floor spots at folk clubs in his native Northants. In the 90s he lived for two years in Germany, extensively gigging in the duo Acres Wild and spent time in Dublin, playing on the city’s vibrant open mic scene - experiences which provided him with a wealth of influences and inspiration. From 2001 he formed a a musical partnership with guitarist Mark Gill spanning 10 years building up a reputation as a solid live duo, recording two studio albums and a live album together.  His passion for supporting local music lead him to set up the live music service Wildfire Sessions in 2011 putting on gigs and open mics across the East Midlands which he operated full time before forming and focusing on his full band The Wildfires. They have since released two albums - the 2018 'Angels and Sirens' and their 2015 debut 'Stratigraphic Heart' with the title track named after his former parallel career as an archaeologist. His set is is not only a stripped down version of what you might see with the band - he always plays to the room, often blending his back catalogue and true life stories with covers spanning his varied musical influences. He is sometimes also joined by regular Wildfires guest Autumn Dawn Leader on piano and vocals which provides a great dynamic to the acoustic versions of his songs.
